Not everyone can be a whiz bang car driving
wizard. Not everyone can be a world champion car racer. After
all, you may not have the reactions, the psychological profile,
the physical dexterity, or even the neurone dexterity necessary
to get the best out of a car at top speed.
As comedian Jay Leno puts it: "These
guys (racers) go out and say: 'Put another quarter-pound of pressure
in the tire would you, Jim? Ah, now it's perfect.' "
"How the hell do they know this stuff?
Get outta here. I go along and say: 'What's that thumping noise?
Oh, my tire's flat!' ".
For anyone who thinks they're really good,
we suggest that they consider that wise old saying "Always
remember you're unique, just like everyone else." |
